Pain and Injuries
A natural stimulus for endorphins, acupuncture can effectively reduce pain and inflammation. Acupuncture helps promote the body's production of natural pain killers while improving energy and blood flow. It helps to strengthen the injured area while removing the toxins. This can increase a person's range of motion as well as decrease persistent pains from injuries.

Paralysis and Cerebral Palsy
Acupuncture has been extremely effective in treating all types of paralysis ranging from that incurred after a stroke or accident to paralysis from birth. Similarly, acupuncture can also treat patients whose movements are inhibited due to damage in the central nervous system; as in the case of those with cerebral palsy. Treatments help unblock blood vessels by deceasing clotting and inflammation. By rebalancing the body, acupuncture helps stimulate proper blood flow throughout the body and helps counter the effects of paralysis. Acupuncture not only treats the paralysis, it reduces the wide-ranging conditions that come with paralysis including emotional problems, poor sleep, bowel malfunctions, and loss of appetite. Treatments would typically occur about 1-3 times a week for 6 weeks or longer. Cerebral palsy usually requires 1-3 treatments a week for an extended time period.

Infertility and Female Problems
Acupuncture has been used to treat infertility for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese medicine can help reestablish normal hormone balance in females by promoting an overall healthier, more balanced body. Stress or imbalance impedes a person's reproductive system and prevents it from functioning properly. Similarly, conditions such as menopause and PMS arise from imbalances in the female's body. Through acupuncture and herbs, Chinese medicine can slowly eradicate the imbalance and restore hormonal stability in the process. Depending on the situation, treatment can take from 6-9 months.

Stress
In western medicine, stress is viewed as the sympathetic nervous system's response to a threatening situation. Stress is triggered by neurotransmitters and neuropeptides which prepare the body for a fight or flight situation. While beneficial in the short run, chronic stress can be taxing on the body as it interrupts the normal flow of Qi and can disrupt the body's normal hormonal balance with elevated levels of cortisol. These imbalances result in problems such as anxiety, digestive problems, and headaches. Acupuncture helps address these problems by unblocking the body's energy flow and gently rebalancing the body. The proper flow of energy promotes improved blood circulation throughout the body which helps flush out chemical imbalances. Acupuncture also induces a calming effect which can reverse some symptoms of stress such as high heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and tense muscles. Treatments usually occur once a week initially and is later reduced to once a month.

Anxiety and Depression
Chinese medicine believes that anxiety and depression, much like stress, are a result of energy blockage within the body. Acupuncture can address these imbalances by promoting proper energy flow and circulation. Patients do not have to discontinue any medication they are on, but most find that they gradually feel better for longer periods of time. Treatments are usually scheduled for once a week towards the beginning of treatment and then once a month to check-up on progress.

Cosmetic Acupuncture
A person's appearance results from years of exposure to sun, stress, and environmental toxins. Many times, the appearance of wrinkles or sagging skin reflect a corresponding weakness of internal organs. Acupuncture strengthens these organs and can tighten and tone the skin as a result. Holistically, people attending acupuncture treatments for cosmetic purposes find that they have more energy or can maintain a healthier weight. Most patients come approximately 2 times a week for a month followed by occasional check-ups afterwards.

Improved Immune System
Many health problems are related to an improperly functioning immune system, from autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis to uncontrolled growths such as tumors. Chinese medicine believes that a triple barrier consisting of Wei Qi, Zheng Qi, and San Jiao provides the foundation for the immune system. If one of these elements in the body is not correctly regulated, then the immune system will not operate properly. Acupuncture aims to enhance these elements within the body, improving the function of and interaction between the different components of the immune system. In studies, acupuncture has been shown to improve a person's immunity by elevating levels of white blood cells, hormones, and certain antibodies. Frequency in treatment of the immune system would depend on the severity of the problem and can range from 1-2 times per week.

Surgery rehabilitation
Acupuncture can enhance the body's healing potential for a quicker and more painless recovery from surgery. From the Chinese Medicine's perspective, surgery creates a trauma that disturbs the homeostasis of the body's energy, creating greater pain and dysfunction in the body. Acupuncture works to ease the blocked Qi and blood flow, thus decreasing inflammation and pain while accelerating the healing process. In some cases, acupuncture can prove more effective than physical therapy. Usually, rehabilitation treatments are scheduled 1-2 times a week.
